AbClose is a revolutionary advancement in port site closure. The patented Suture Guide enables precise and symmetric suture placement regardless of patient BMI.
Clinical Needs & Evidences
7.5 million laparoscopic surgeries are performed globally each year and roughly 6% result in hernias from port site incisions.
Existing port site closure devices are not optimized for a wide range of patient’s anatomy.
A single-operator design eliminates suture "fishing"
1. Device Deployment
2. Suture Deployment
3. Suture Closure
Insert the device through the trocar incision site.
Advance Slider to skin surface to stabilize the Suture Guide.
Load suture onto the Suture Passer. Advance the Suture Passer into Channel 1 to deploy suture.
Repeat this process with the other end of the suture and Channel 2.
Withdraw the Suture Guide and detach the suture by pulling the suture toward the proximal end of the device.
Use standard knot tying techniques to obtain the desired closure.
